Lilburn Man Accused of Stealing at Gwinnett Justice Center

Gerard England was arrested Monday morning on the accusation that he stole another person's iPhone, cash and car key right off the security station conveyer belt.

A Lilburn man is being accused of taking personal items at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center last week.

Gerard England was arrested this morning (July 1) on the accusation that he stole another person's iPhone, cash and car key right off the security station conveyer belt last Thursday (June 27), according to a news release from spokesman Deputy Shannon Volkodav of the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office.

The victim allegedly was entering the courthouse building at 75 Langley Dr. in Lawrenceville when the incident happened.

The person then notified sheriff deputies of the theft, and England was identified as the suspect. Arrest warrants were secured and England was arrested at his home by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s deputies.

The victim’s car key was found near the parking lot and returned shortly after it was taken, Volkodav said. The remaining stolen items were recovered from his residence and returned to the owner.

England has been charged with two counts of theft by taking and is being held at the Gwinnett County Jail.

The information above is based solely on news release provided by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.
