Lilburn Plans July 4th Celebration

Surf music, fireworks on the schedule in Lilburn City Park.

Old guys with guitars β€” Fender Stratocasters, perhaps β€” will highlight the ’s Star-Spangled Celebration July 4.

As Mayor Diana Preston hinted at the last City Council meeting, local surf-music bands SratoGeezer and the Surge! will perform during a free concert at beginning at 6:30 p.m.

A fireworks display will follow.

The concert opens with StratoGeezer, a Norcross band that regularly performs around Atlanta, including at the Peachtree Road Race and Sweetwater Brewing Company events.

The Surge! is the headliner. The Lilburn band, which has opened for the Beach Boys, has been playing together since 1997.
