Rep. Woodall Visits Parkview in Student Town Hall Series

U.S. Rep. Rob Woodall (R-Lawrenceville) was in Lilburn Wednesday morning, visiting with nearly 400 Parkview High School students in town-hall style talks in the school’s auditorium.

Two groups of around 200 students each filled the auditorium for back-to-back 45-minute sessions as part of the congressman’s Student Town Hall Series.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Parkview today,” Woodall said in a press release statement after the event. “For me to be able to communicate with the next generation of decision-makers and convey how important their role is in shaping their government is very rewarding.”

Woodall’s 7th Congressional District includes all of Barrow and Walton counties, most of Gwinnett County (including Lilburn), and portions of Forsyth and Newton counties.  Woodall is the former chief of staff for Rep. John Linder, who retired last year after 18 years of representing District 7.

Woodall also presented the school a copy of the Congressional Record, in which he congratulated Parkview for being named a 2011 Georgia School of Excellence. Full text of the remarks is available here.

"Gwinnett County Public School system is the epitome of self-sufficiency within a school district, and is renowned throughout the country thanks to its efficient administration and prestigious curriculum.

“I will continue to fight on behalf of the students in my district to maintain local control over our children’s education."
