Snow a No-Show in Lilburn; Brace for Frigid Temps

Flakes fell, but otherwise Sunday was just a cold, windy day.

If you used the word "snow" to call what fell out of the sky Sunday, then you really haven't been around the white stuff very much, have you?

While snowfall closed schools in the North Georgia Mountain for Monday, Lilburn barely saw anything frozen, except the temperature.

Outside of some big flurries that fell for a short time after 4 p.m. — enough for some kids to go outside to catch flakes on their tongues — there was no joy for snow-lovers in the area.

What Lilburn did get was a windy blast of cold temperatures on the backside of a strong weather system that created blizzard conditions in the Midwest.

Temperatures will stay below freezing today, with lows in the teens Monday and Tuesday nights.
