Viewfinder: Former Restaurant Now Rubble

The demolition of a building on Five Forks-Trickum caught our attention.

The vacant building on Five Forks-Trickum Road that started as a pizza joint, then became a dry-cleaning facility, is now a pile of rubble.

The result of the quick work by a large excavator from JA Brown Grading, the building located at 4009 Five Forks-Trickum — next to the Wendy’s and in front of the Publix — was leveled Monday morning as motorists rubber-necked to see what was happening.

A couple of motorists and a Publix employee stopped by to watch the Komatsu PC 400 LC rip through the structure, which took a mere couple of hours to do.

Lilburn Patch couldn’t resist capturing some of the activity in the attached video.

The building started as a Donato’s pizza restaurant about a decade ago, then transitioned into the dry-cleaning biz. It was last called “Dry Clean City.”

No word on the plans for the property. The real-estate rep who sold the building as foreclosed property a couple years ago said he doesn’t know who the owner is.
