Wallet Stolen During Lilburn Library Visit

The wallet was taken right from a woman's hands while she was trying to pick out books for her 10-year-old daughter.

A local woman said her wallet was taken last month while visiting the Lilburn Library off Hillcrest Road.

According to the Lilburn Police report, the 39-year-old was picking out books for her daughter when an unknown man grabbed her wallet right from her hands. He ran, pushing her and her 10-year-old, and jumped into an older model Honda Acura with a getaway driver.

A witness sitting in the parking lot saw the man get into the car and the mother and daughter, so the woman followed him. She was able to obtain a partial tag number before he sped off.

According to the report, no one has been arrested or charged in the incident. The suspect was described as being a light-skinned black male between the ages of 18 and 22 and weighing 130 pounds. He was wearing all black and a red baseball cap.

The woman's wallet contained $375, a passport, multiple credit cards and a driver's license.
