Food Bad Drop Off - Annual Food Drive to Benefit the Lilburn Coop

Bags will be distributed door to door throughout the Parkview, Camp Creek, and Mountain Park neighborhoods  the weekend of Saturday, November 3rd by Scouts with Pack 549, Pack 564, Troop 549, and Venture Crew 1549. Donors are asked to put the bag filled with dry goods and non perishables back on their front porch within site of the street by 10 am the following Saturday, November 10th; they may add additional bags/ boxes of donated items if they feel so moved.  The scouts will come around collecting the bags between 10 and 4 that day and deliver to the Lilburn Coop.

Every year, the demand on the Lilburn Coop's resources increase during the winter months. Starting in October, the people utilizing the Coop's services have increased utility costs, and the need for winter clothing. It comes down to a choice of "What do you do? Keep your house warm? Buy the kids new winter clothes? Buy food?”. Companies typically "lay off" during the last quarter of the year - and "want" becomes more stark in contrast to the general merry making that accompanies Thanksgiving and Christmas. These are some of the reasons why the NOVEMBER food drive in particular is so important to the Coop.

If you can help spread the word - the more it gets "talked up" the more full bags we get back on that second Saturday.

The need is great.
