Lilburn Ga Restaurant - Free Drinks - Remembers Nov 15th 1920 Fire

On Thursday November 15th in memory of the Lilburn Georgia Fire of 1920, Firehouse Subs Restaurant in Lilburn Ga will give away Free drinks to all visitors to honor the Firemen of Lilburn Ga. Everyone can enjoy a free drink with a choice of 127 flavors from our Coke Freestyle machine. No purchase is necessary.

Owner Grady Griffin stated "My brother Benjy and I are very excited to bring Firehouse Subs to Lilburn Ga. Since we were raised in a small Georgia town (Hawkinsville) and, we love the small town feel that Lilburn possesses.  Everyone has shown us tremendous support, including the City of Lilburn employees, Police Department, Fire Department, landlord, fellow merchants, and the community."

Firehouse Subs is located at 4145 Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn 30047 and is open Monday-Sunday 10:30am - 9pm. The restaurant offers over-sized portions of premium hand-sliced meats and cheeses, steamed to make the flavors burst, then piled high with fresh produce atop a toasted sub roll. Founded in Jacksonville, Fla., by former firefighting brothers Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen, the restaurant’s authentic firehouse setting is based on the founding family’s 200 years of firefighting heritage.

Every Firehouse Subs restaurant boasts a custom, hand-painted mural and this location features a scene from the disastrous fire on November 15, 1920, when the Lilburn Supply Company caught fire and nearly burned the entire business section of town. Shown fighting the flames is the volunteer bucket brigade, whose heroic work saved the residential area of town. After learning the impact of the fire on the city of Lilburn, there was no doubt that this piece of history is what we wanted to feature in our restaurant.

For the past 18 years, Joe "Art Brush" Puskas has been behind the creation of each and every hand-painted mural that adorns the walls of all Firehouse Subs restaurants. These works of art pay tribute to the local community, and no one mural is the same. Since the opening of Firehouse Subs in 1994, Joe has painted more than 500 murals and counting.
