It’s not too early to start planning for the Lilburn Relay Rally, scheduled to take place this year on April 26 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Lilburn City Park. There will be a kick-off planning session on Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall for those who wish to join the fight against cancer and learn more about upcoming programs. Register your team of 5+ at www.lilburnrelayrally.org.
All monies raised at the Lilburn Relay Rally are forwarded to the Gwinnett County Relay for Life held in May to support the American Cancer Society’s research and awareness programs to battle this terrible disease. The City and the Lilburn Woman’s Club founded the Relay Rally nine years ago to provide local support for the Gwinnett relay, which is the largest in the world.
Sponsorships are welcome for the April 26 event, which includes an opening ceremony, cancer survivor’s lap, luminaria ceremony, and live music. Contact Relay Rally Co-Chair Gail Zarnik, gailz18@aol.com, 770-982-9828.
