National Night Out is held the first Tuesday of August each year from Alaska to Florida, Maine to Guam and is in its 30th year. Lilburn's event is co-sponsored by the City of Lilburn, Lilburn Police Department and SafetySmart Lilburn.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to heighten crime/drug prevention, generate support and participation in anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit, build police-community partnerships, send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
