A Gwinnett County medical office specialist became a multi-millionaire by winning a Georgia Lottery instant game last week, but at first she thought the prize was considerably less.

Kimberly Cofer bought the winning ticket in Snellville.

“I sent a picture to my mother and sister. I thought I’d won $2,500,” Cofer said in a Georgia Lottery press release. “My mom called me. She was out of her mind screaming that I’d won $2.5 million.

“I was screaming, yelling and crying.”

She purchased the $20 Lucky Loot ticket Friday, June 13 at The Market on Scenic Highway, making Friday the 13th a lucky day.

She claimed the prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.

Cofer said she wants to buy a house and save the rest.

“I want to think about what I want to do. It’s going to be simply amazing,” she said. “It’s really exciting. I love it.”

There are some people who shouldn't buy lottery tickets. She couldn't tell the difference between $2,500 and $2,500,000? Geez.

I'd have to disagree. She was definitely meant to play and win because it could not have happened to a more deserving girl. The fact she didn't realize the amount she had won only proves her desperate need for glasses; which she can now afford to buy.

Pam, it's definitely unbecoming to be a hater.
