Barefoot Wine Honoring Daffy's Pet Soup Kitchen

Lilburn resident's nonprofit is recognized in a national wine retailer's "Soles of the Year" campaign.

Daffy’s Pet Soup Kitchen is one of seven nonprofits across the country being honored this spring by Barefoot Wine's "Soles of the Year" campaign.

The campaign seeks to help citizens contribute to the overall betterment of society, and recognizes nonprofit leaders who embody that mission, as well.

For its work, Daffy's is being highlighted on Barefoot Wine and Bubbly's new Impression Red Blend wine label, which hit store shelves in March. The compay also gave Daffy's a $10,000 donation.

It has grown to one of the largest nonprofit pet food banks in the nation for dogs, cats and other pets, according to Wargo. Just last year, it gave out nearly 1 million pounds of pet food.

With more than 5 million pets entering shelters every year and a economic challenges, organization's like Daffy's are increasingly more important.

Aside from helping keep pets fed, Wargo's mission is helping owners and their beloved pets stay together, in spite of the hard times.
