"We accomplished the 40 years only with God's help," said Charlene Taylor, a founding member. "God had to have a hand at it for it succeed."

By 1977, Lilburn Christian Church moved into its first building, now the chapel and youth building, and today has a nearly seven-acre campus at 314 Arcado Road.

In addition, the church has branched out across Gwinnett County with four other congregations, including Hamilton Mill where Taylor attends.

For the Lilburn community, Taylor said the church has been especially important.

"I think many lives have been touched by the church being there," she said, "and those lives in turn have touched others lives, and you pass it on."
