We're down to 49 degrees here are DaculaWeather.com this morning, a very welcome relief from the abnormally high temperatures we've been running for a while now. And that is 15 degrees cooler than this time yesterday.
And while 49 might sound low, our normal low for today is 52, so we're really about where we are suppose to be. Look for our temperatures to rebound to near 80 today and tomorrow, before moisture begins to return and cool things off once more over the weekend. Our chances for rain will begin to increase beginning Saturday night and Sunday looks to be a little wet right now. The GFS holds on to the moisture into next week as it depicts a surface low droping into the southeast and keeping us in the soup through most of next week. The Euro is not quite as aggressive with the low and the moisture and lifts it out sooner. The next few models runs will help to bring the extended into better focus.
We've still below normal for rainfall but so far we have had 1.39" for May at DaculaWeather.com which is 0.35" more than we had for the entire month of April. We still desperately need rainfall since much of Georgia is still in a drought condition.
So for now, enjoy the cooler and dryer air that's filtered in. Summer is on the doorstep and you'll be wishing for more of this very soon!
