Gwinnett Resident pens romance novel set in Georgia

Dawson's Book Breathes New Life into a Decade That Vanished Right Before Our Eyes

In Port Honor, we discover love and loss; intimacy and secrets; and struggling with the demons of one's past while fighting for tomorrow's dreams.

Lawrenceville, GA (PRWEB) March 07, 2014 New author, T. S. Dawson, has just released her first book - Port Honor. Dawson shares her sharp-tongued wit and feisty attitude, along with her humor and love of the South with her readers in this 222,850 word novel. Port Honor is the blend of Southern satire, historical fiction and romance. It moves through time and emotions like a Nicolas Sparks novel and has the light comedy and flirty undertones of Mary Kay Andrews’ books. It gives credence to the fact that we are capable of being the stereotype of a Southerner, but gives hope that we are so much more.
Port Honor is the story of first love and rising to the occasion when it comes to the challenges life presents.Like the captain of a vessel, there had been one man that charted the course of Amelia’s life, her grandfather, and now he was gone. Just when she was learning to navigate on her own, along came Gabriel. What began as a job interview for small town college student, Amelia Anderson, turned out to be so much more. Upon sight of her future boss, she was captivated. Was it the thrill of young love, forbidden fruit or was Gabriel Hewitt the moon to her tide? The pull toward him was undeniable. Gabriel was older, wiser, more experienced in the ways of the world and unlike any of the college boys. He was a man, a real man.
Born and raised in Jefferson County, Georgia, the author first left home for college at age eighteen. She headed off to Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia for her freshman year and finished up at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, where she received her Bachelor's of Science in History. While in college, she became familiar with both the mountains of north Georgia and the lake country of middle Georgia. She worked at a number of restaurants and one golf and country club on Lake Oconee. After college, she moved to the Atlanta area and has worked as paralegal for the last fifteen years. In that same time she has become a wife and mother. Over the years she has had a fabulous time of meeting a world of people, hearing their stories and creating a few scandalous memories of her own. She has blended high and low points of many of those adventures into Port Honor.Readers of Dawson's first book have expressed great enthusiasm and hunger for her follow-up book, In Search of Honor.
"I just finished reading Port Honor, by T. S. Dawson, and loved it. The author's style brings to mind a delightful combination of the southern charm and sweetness of Eugenia Price mixed with the witticism and humor of Fannie Flag and a dash of E. L. James thrown in for some added kick. It's like a pecan pie spiked with a little bourbon...yummy. I can't wait to read what Dawson serves up next!" -D. Goss, Tucker, Georgia"The story is very interesting and Dawson does an amazing job of character development as well as depicting each setting. I was left feeling as though I were watching it unfold as opposed to reading it. I am an avid reader so I can attest to the fact that her book is better than most I have read. I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I am anxiously awaiting her next book!" -A. Saunders, Buford, GeorgiaDawson is from the South and jokingly states that, "No, we are not all the butt of Lewis Grizzard or Jeff Foxworthy's jokes, but we know or are related to someone who is. That being said, she writes what she knows and that is the places of Georgia and it's people. Read more at http://www.tsdawson.com.
