Born and raised in Jefferson County, Georgia, the author first left home for college at age eighteen. She headed off to Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia for her freshman year and finished up at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia, where she received her Bachelor's of Science in History. While in college, she became familiar with both the mountains of north Georgia and the lake country of middle Georgia. She worked at a number of restaurants and one golf and country club on Lake Oconee. After college, she moved to the Atlanta area and has worked as paralegal for the last fifteen years. In that same time she has become a wife and mother. Over the years she has had a fabulous time of meeting a world of people, hearing their stories and creating a few scandalous memories of her own. She has blended high and low points of many of those adventures into Port Honor.Readers of Dawson's first book have expressed great enthusiasm and hunger for her follow-up book, In Search of Honor.
