$125 Stolen Right Out of His Hand

A man reported $125 was stolen right out of his hand while at the gas station last week. 

Reported at the Shell station on the 4000 block of Stone Mountain Highway, the incident was said to have taken place around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19. The man, a 21-year-old Decatur resident, told Gwinnett Police the incident occurred after he had paid for his gas. 

As he walked out of the door with cash in his hand, a man standing by a black sedan next to the entrance punched the victim in the face and took the money, according to the police report. The suspect didn't say a word. 

The suspect then jumped into the sedan, which was filled with two other males. According to the report, the vehicle drove off in the parking lot, but the victim caught up and was able to get in the backseat with the man who stole his money. 

After struggling with the suspect, the victim said he heard the driver say, "Get the gun." The victim immediately exited the vehicle but never saw a gun. 

According to the police report, the victim's girlfriend, who was at the gas station the entire time, drove over to the victim, and they attempted to chase the suspects down. The couple lost track of them around Bethany Church Road, though. 

While the victim and his girlfriend didn't know for certain the make and model of the suspect's vehicle, they told police the think it's a newer model, a four-door sedan, and either a Ford or Nissan Maxima. 

The report details that the man who directly stole the money looked no older than 20 years old and had tattoos on his arms and gold front teeth.

The victim said the driver and passenger both looked around 24 and 25 years old age.
