Armed Robbery at Lilburn Dollar General

Police have not reported an arrest in this case.

On March 4, about 6:45 p.m., police responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Dollar General store in Lilburn.

When police arrived to the store, located at 5570 Lawrenceville Highway, they met with an employee and store manager, who were there at the time of the robbery.

According to the Lilburn Police Department report, the employee was attempting to check out a man, and upon opening the register, the man pulled out a semi-automatic handgun.

The male suspect then demanded the money in the register, which amounted to $357. After getting the money, the man left in an unknown direction.

It was at that time that the manager was notified of the robbery. He later told police that he didn't see the robbery happen, but that he did recall the suspect from inside the store.

A K-9 officer attempted to track the suspect, but no one was found.

According to the report, police are continuing to investigate and reviewing video surveillance.

Patch contacted the city of Lilburn for an update on this case, and at this time, no additional details have been provided.
