Firefighters tried, but were unable to immediately get inside the home because of a partially collapsed roof and the fire's intensity.

Once inside, firefighters found the victim, believed to be an adult male, in a corner room, according to the press release. Fire investigators are working to confirm the identity of the victim and the circumstances surrounding the fire.

The name of the victim is not being released at this time. The victim was reportedly staying in the home overnight while renovation work was being done, fire officials said in the press release.

Although crews were able to protect nearby exposures, they had several challenges including downed live electrical lines, a fully involved fire prior to arrival, deteriorating building conditions and the fire being fed by natural gas.

Among those responding the fire were: three engine trucks, one ladder truck, one squad unit, one medic ambulance and one air and light unit. Two battalion chiefs, a fire Investigator and the department's public information officer also responded.

Investigators are continuing to work to find the exact cause of the fire.
