Burglary, Trespassing Reported in Same Neighborhood

Inside the Police Reports: The Indian Springs subdivision saw a burglary and trespassing occur within 20 hours of one another.

One burglary and one trespassing occurred last week within 20 hours and six houses of one another.

The first incident in the Indian Springs subdivision, located off Indian Trail-Lilburn Road, took place on the evening of June 27.

Having just purchased a residence on the 5000 block of Whited Way, the 32-year-old owner told police that he arrived at his home at 6:15 p.m. and noticed the front door damaged.

He secured the door and left to pick up his father, then went back to the home. He found no one in the home and no sign of squatting, just a boot print on the front door, according to the police report.

Gwinnett Police and the owner determined that the damage to the door cost $150. Police gave him a contact number in case the incident happens again, but nothing further is known of the case at this time.

The next day, the homeowner, 39, of a home on the 4900 block of Cold Springs Drive called police around 1:30 p.m., to report a burglary was in progress.

She told police that a unknown number of people started knocking on her front door, and when she didn't answer, they decided to break the glass of her sliding door in the back of the house.

According to the police report, nothing appeared to be stolen, but the damage to the door is estimated at $200.

A sweep of the area for the suspect(s) was also conducted but ended with nothing.
