Car Rams Into Bank of America in Lilburn

Inside the Police Blotter: The driver told police that her Lexus failed to stop when she pulled into a parking space.

A car rammed into a Bank of America in Lilburn in late March, causing damage to the building and the car. 

According to the Lilburn Police report, the 31-year-old driver told authorities that she went to park her car, a Lexus RX400HS, at the bank located at 3930 Lawrenceville Highway around 3:20 p.m. on a recent Monday.

When she pulled into a parking space, she went to brake, but the car only continued to move forward. She ended up hitting the front of the bank.

Visible damage can be seen from the exterior and interior walls of the building. According to the report, the damage is estimated to cost $1,000.

The assistant manager of the bank told police that no one saw the car hit the wall, but they heard the collision and saw the interior wall crack. No one was injured, according to the report.

The vehicle obtained minor damages to the front bumper, which is estimated to cost $500. The criminal damage report does not list the driver as being cited or arrested for the incident.

The assistant manager told Lilburn that an estimator would check on the structure's condition.
