Car Theft Victim Gets Hit Twice

Inside the Police Reports: A car theft victim on Landingview Court reported her car was vandalized a week after school supplies were stolen out of it.

A resident on the 3200 block of Landingview Court, near Five Forks Trickum Road and Pine Cove Drive, reported that someone vandalized her car earlier this month.

She also had $500 stolen out of her vehicle a week before, just one of the thefts that took place in . 

According to the vandalism report, the paint on the victim's trunk lid was scratched some time between 7 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 11:20 a.m. the next day. The woman, 44, told police that the huge scratch looked similar to a checkmark.

The damage is reported to be worth $550, and police have classified the incident as criminal damage in the second degree. 

The car, a Toyota Corolla, had been parked on the street in front of her house. No other similar crimes or thefts were reported around this time in this area on Crimemapping.com.

The victim also said someone had entered her vehicle the week before while it was in her driveway. During the late evening hours of Aug. 3, suspect(s) went through her unlocked side door and stole $200 worth of children's clothing, $100 worth of children's shoes, a $100 purse and $100 worth of other school supplies. 

One neighbor in this these car thefts had surveillance tape showing two young white males entering his vehicle, in addition to his neighbor's vehicle. The 44-year-old had no suspect information for the vandalism done to her car.
