Child Hit by Car in Mountain Park Area

From a Gwinnett County Police Department Media Release:

On Friday, June 1, 2012, at approximately 6:20 p.m., officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department reported to a call of person struck by a vehicle at 1652 Eldonlas Ct. in the Mountain Park area of Gwinnett County. The victim, an 11 year old female, sustained a head injury as a result of the collision.

It was determined that the child was on a bicycle and was exiting a driveway onto the road when the collision occurred. Though the driver was able to stop, the child struck the side of the vehicle hitting her head; she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Updates on her current condition are not available at this time.

The driver of the vehicle has not been charged in this accident.
