Couple Arrested for Public Sex Act Following Easter Service

A Gwinnett County police officer found the two in a car in a Kroger parking lot off U.S. Highway 78 in Snellville. One of those arrested is from Lilburn.

A man and woman were both arrested in connection to having sex in a Kroger parking lot on Easter Sunday in Snellville.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department report, an officer was patrolling the parking lot at 4002 Stone Mountain Highway at around 11:25 p.m. when he noticed the silhouette of a woman's head bouncing up and down in the front seat.

When he got closer, the officer saw a man naked from the waist down sitting in the driver's seat. The woman, who was also partially naked, was performing oral sex on him.

The officer knocked on the window and gestured for them to open it.

The man, who was 26-year-old Snellville resident James Earl Grant, told the officer that they "were making out," according to the report. He and the woman, 21-year-old Michel Felix-Cases from Lilburn, didn't shop at Kroger, and they didn't intend to shop there.

Grant added that they had just come from church where they attended Easter service.

The two were arrested at the scene and their vehicle, which smelled heavily of burnt and raw marijuana, was searched. The officer found a clear plastic bag containing green leafy material that tested positive for marijuana. A half-smoked marijuana cigarette also was discovered.

The male suspect admitted to police that the marijuana was his. The two both were charged with disorderly conduct (sex in a public place) and loitering and prowling. Because he admitted to owning the drugs, Grant also was charged with possession of marijuana.
