Free Safe Driving Class for Teens

The class will be held April 12 at the south precinct in Lilburn.

What is the leading cause of death for teenagers ages 16-19?  It’s not drugs or guns or suicide it’s motor vehicle crashes.  In 2009  8 teens died every day ages 16-19 from motor vehicle injuries.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is offering a free, 2-hour Teen P.R.I.D.E. Safe Driving class at the South Precinct.

This is a program that addresses teen driver attitude, knowledge, and behavior, rather than a technical hands-on drivers training course.  This course also educates teens and their parents on the specific laws that apply to teen drivers.  Through this class parents will be better prepared to help instruct their teen while completing the required 40 hours of supervised driving.  Parental involvement is the key to reducing teen crashes and fatalities in the state of Georgia.
