GCPD Needs Help Identifying Victims in Fatal Crash

Fiery crash in Sugar Hill claimed two lives early Tuesday morning.

A fiery crash in Sugar Hill claimed the lives of two adults early Tuesday morning. Now Gwinnett County Police need your help in identifying the victims.

GCPD says the dark gray BMW 740i was heading north on Sycamore Rd, a half a mile north of Nelson Brogdon Blvd in unincorporated Sugar Hill at around 12:30am Tuesday. Investigators say the driver lost control of the car, crossed the double yellow line and crashed into a tree. The vehicle then erupted in flames.

The driver and passenger were both pronounced dead after the fire had been extinguished.

Because of the severe injuries sustained in the accident, investigators are having a hard time identifying the victims. GCPD think they may have identified the driver but are waiting for confirmation from dental records.

Police believe the two were headed to Lake Lanier after leaving an alcohol anonymous class. If you have any information regarding this accident and the identities of the victims, please call the Gwinnett County Police Accident Investigation Unit at 678-442-5626.
