Gwinnett County PD to Handle 911 Calls for Lilburn

An agreement between Lilburn and the county is effective beginning June 1.

The intergovernmental agreement between the City of Lilburn and Gwinnett County will allow Gwinnett County PD to provide emergency calls and police radio dispatch for the citizens served by Lilburn Police Department.

The press release from the city dated May 29, 2012 states that "all city residents and businesses will benefit by utilizing Gwinnett E-011 operators to handle their police calls for service." These operators have been trained in handling the city's calls and the public should expect the same prompt response as currently experienced.

City of Lilburn Police Officers will continue to respond to calls as dispatched by the Gwinnett E-911 operators. They will "continue to provide the same level of professional service the public expects and deserves."

The city will experience the benefit of a higher staffing level, lowering the chance of overwhelmed operators. Life threatening emergencies will be handled by dispatchers who are better prepared through their experiences to handle life threatening emergencies.

If you have an emergency, you should dial 911 for police, fire, or medical services. Non-emergency numbers for Lilburn city residents and businesses are as follows:
