Gwinnett Police Hunt for Man in Vehicular Manslaughter Case

A man charged with first-degree manslaughter checked himself out of the hospital without notifying police

A fatal car accident on I-85 just inside the Gwinnett County line resulted in DUI and first-degree vehicular manslaughter charges against Brayan Rivera in December.

Rivera recently checked himself out of the hospital without contacting the police or turning himself in. Gwinnett Police are now asking for the public’s help identifying the man, who a 23-year-old Hispanic male.

 The accident occurred on Dec. 12, 2010 around 3:15 a.m. A 1999 Cadillac Deville, driven by 22-year-old Diana Lovett was stopped in the HOV lane. The car was struck by a Mitsubishi driven by Rivera.

Both Rivera and Joshua Keith, a passenger in the Cadillac, were taken to the hospital, where Keith later died as a result of injuries from the collision.
