Inside Police Reports: Burglary Aided By Unlocked Door

Lilburn resident said her home was burglarized while she was visiting a family member in the hospital.

A Rhett Butler Drive resident told police that she never locks her front door, but she probably will in the future.

According to a report, burglars ransacked the woman’s house and stole her son’s Wii video-game system, a Sony hand-held player and several discs on July 7 or 8. They were valued at $600.

The woman said she was gone from her residence to visit a family member in the hospital from 8 a.m. July 7 until 2:30 p.m. July 8. She told police that some other family members were at the house, and they told her they left through the front door without locking it.
