Inside Police Reports: Those Pesky Vandals

Lilburn resident believes kids are to blame for mailbox damages and other vandalism

A Lake Lucerne-area resident is getting a little perturbed by a recent string of vandalism she thinks may be the work of school-age kids.

A woman living on Lake Lucerne Road told on June 4 that vandals keep digging up her mailbox. According to the police report, the woman said her neighbors' mailboxes have been damaged, too.

That’s not all.

She says they’ve placed wood with nails sticking out, causing tire damage. Then there’s the “industrial-grade” plastic wrap stretched across the roadway.

According to the report, “She believes the suspects are juveniles and she is worried that they are escalating.”

Debit Card Fraud

A Lilburn woman reported that a debit card she uses to collect child support payments had been hacked and used for a fraudulent charge.

The woman told Gwinnett County Police that someone used the debit card number issued to her by the state of Georgia to make a purchase of $148 in Colorado.

The alleged fraud occurred on June 7.

The case is still active.
