Inside Police Reports: Unlike Superman, This Costume Change Didn't Fool Anyone

A clothes change didn't work for this would-be thief.

At around 2:00 on June 27th, Lilburn Police were dispatched to WalMart for another theft. In this instance, a gentleman wearing glasses, a pink and white striped shirt, and khaki shorts was observed putting a Sony Blue Ray Home Theater System (value of $479) into his cart and walking out of the store through the Garden Center without paying for the purchase.

When confronted, the suspect began to walk back into WalMart with the Loss Prevention Agent, but then turned and ran out of the store towards the IHOP. He was then seen getting into a red Dodge Neon.

Within moments, Lilburn Police spotted a car matching the description and pulled it over.

The gentleman sitting in the back seat matched the physical description but was wearing a white t-shirt, no glasses and khaki shorts. When he was brought back to WalMart by officers of LPD, the gentleman was positively identified by the LPA. Officers reviewed security tapes were also able to identify him as the same man.

The gentleman was charged with felony shoplifting and transported to Gwinnett County Jail.
