Inside the Police Reports: Armed Robbery at Apartment Complex

An armed robbery was reported at the Park Crossing Apartments in Lilburn.

On Sept. 15, about 7 a.m., Gwinnett County police officers were dispatched to an armed robbery reported at Park Crossing Apartments, on Park Crossing Way.

Upon arrival, the victim told police that he was carrying a box to his car when a man approached him. At first, the man walked by him, saying nothing, according to an account in the police report.

While putting the box in his car, the victim said the man came back -- wearing a blue bandanna over his face, and hit him in the face with a pistol. "Give me all your money," the suspect said, according to the victim's account.

The victim said that he then grabbed the suspect's right arm, twisting the pistol from his grasp. But, that's when the suspect drew a pocket knife.

The victim then picked up the gun to defend himself. That's when he noticed it was only made of plastic. He threw it at the suspect.

According to the police report, the suspect then ran off. He is described as a light-skin male, who was wearing a red, pull-over sweatshirt; a red T-shirt; and blue jeans.

The victim had minor injuries, but refused medical attention, according to the police report.

At first, police said that the victim thought the suspect made off with his house and car keys. But, later police found them on the hood of his car.

Police are continuing to investigate.
