Inside the Police Reports

Two burglaries and one armed robbery line up this week's reports for the City of Lilburn.

Each week, Lilburn Patch takes a deeper look into recent crime reports in Lilburn, this week reported by the Lilburn Police Department.

Burlgary at a Jewelry Store, But No Jewels?: On Dec. 27 around 2:40 a.m., a burglary alarm sounded at Unique Jewelers on 5550 Lawrenceville Highway. When Lilburn Police arrived, they met with the owner, a 32-year-old Lithonia resident, who said a 47-inch flat screen television and two Xboxes had been stolen during the burglary. No jewelry was reported stolen in the police report. A broken window on the side of the building was found, along with a large rock next to it, so it was determined to be the forced entry point. Fingerprints and photographs were taken.

Rough Times at Kroger: A man was allegedly robbed Dec. 30 while going to Kroger from his apartment in the city of Lilburn. Walking through the Woodcliff Apartment Complex on the 1000 block of Woodcliff Drive, the 48-year-old victim was approached by two black men who had a knife. Reaching into the man's back pocket, they stole his wallet and ran into the wooded area near the complex. The wallet contained the victim's paperwork, debit card, ID and cash. Because of the lack of light, the victim only noticed that they both had short hair.

Christmas Burglary: Another burglary was reported last month, this time on Christmas Eve at Pizza K located at 5570 Lawrneceville Highway. The owner, an Atlanta resident, told police that a floor safe, cash, and a printer and scanner had been taken some time between 12:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. No forced entry was observed, which made the owner believe that the suspect(s) may have had a key. Prints were lifted from the scene.
