Inside the Police Reports: $45 Robbery, Suspected Prowler and a Fight Over a Girl

Here are several reports from this week's published incident blotter for the city of Lilburn.

Prowler Makes Off

At approximately 2:14 p.m. on Dec. 12, Lilburn police were dispatched to the 4900 block of Lakeridge Trail for a burglary in progress.

A 14-year-old female told the dispatcher that someone was trying to get inside her home. Once police arrived, they surrounded the residence to be sure the would-be burglary wasn't around anymore.

The teenager told police that she and her brothers were watching television when they heard a loud bang at the door. According to the police report, she peaked out the window and saw a man, described as a dark-skinned Hispanic man who was "chunky," about 5 feet 5 and wearing a white and black jacket, a camouflage hat and holding a towel in his hand.

The man started banging on the door and yelled, "Let me in," according to the police report. He also went to the windows of the home and started banging on them.

The teenager called her mother, and then 9-1-1, and waited for police to arrive.

Unfortunately, police did not locate the man at the time of the incident, despite a K9 team picking up a scent that led into the woods.

Fingerprints were collected at the scene, but no further information was obtained about the perpetrators whereabouts.

Police are continuing to investigate.

Robber Scores $45

On Dec. 12, at approximately 7:18 p.m., Lilburn police officers were dispatched to the 5500 block of Lawrenceville Highway in reference to a robbery at a local Dollar General.

A female victim told police that she was walking into the Dollar General when she was approached by a man asking for directions to the hospital on Sugarloaf Parkway.

Everytime the woman told the man directions, he would ask her for more specific directions, the police report states.

Once the woman finally decided she was done giving directions, "the suspect said thank you then suddenly and violently snatched her purse from her arm," the report states.

Inside the purse, the victim said she had lip gloss, a debit card, a food stamp card, a social security card, a tampon, an identification card, keys and $45.

She described the perpetrator as a black male, about 6 feet 3, between 200 and 230 pounds, wearing a black puffy jacket and black jeans.

Police said the woman "was visibly shaking," but that she also was able to tell them that the man left in a newer model black SUV that turned west on Lawrenceville Highway of the Dollar General parking lot.

Police were not able to track down the vehicle at the time. There also were no other witnesses or survellance video of the incident.

The victim was asked to contact police if she had any other information to share.

Gas Station Fight

About 5:54 a.m. on Dec. 11, Lilburn police were dispatched to the 30 block of Killian Hill Road, also known as the Shell Food Mart, in reference to a person being stabbed.

When police arrived, they found a man sitting on the sidewalk on front of the store. His right hand was wrapped in cloth with blood on it, according to the report.

The victim said that him and another man were arguing over tools and a woman and that the argument escalated. The suspect drew a knife and and cut the victim, the report states.

The suspect fled the scene in what the victim described as a 2002 Jeep Cherokee with a "beat to hell look." The victim could not say tell police exactly where the suspect lived, but he was able to give a general location.

Despite the police being on the scene and the cut hand, the victim told officers he did not want to press any charges on the perpetrator.

The victim refused transport to a local hospital, but emergency workers "strongly advised" him that he should seek medical attention. He then contacted his mother, and had her take him to the hospital, the report states.

The victim later told police that he would provide a statement, but only if the other man was not charged. Police told him that he could email it in.
