Inside the Police Reports: Man Flips Off Neighbor, Gets Gun in Face

Two apparent neighbors who do not know each other get into a bit of a dangerous quandary.

On Aug. 18, about 11 p.m., two apparent neighbors ran into bit of a problem together.

One man later reported to police that he was driving northbound on McDaniel Bridge Road when another vehicle began traveling  "extremely close" to him. The man said their speeds were about 40 mph.

Besides it being a dark-colored sport utility vehicle, the man could not give police any other description.

The unknown vehicle began following the man onto Killian Hill Road into his subdivision, Killian Forest. As he turned into the subdivision, the man told police that he believed the other vehicle slowed down and stopped following him. So, he told police that he flipped him off with his middle finger -- "giving him the bird" -- and continued on his way.

As he pulled out of the stop sign at Hunters Trace and Yellowstone Way, the unknown vehicle raced to catch up with him, according to the Gwinnett County police report.

The unknown driver then got out of his vehicle and marched toward the other man's driver's side. Then, the man did something that put him in an immediately precarious position -- he rolled down the window.

According to the police report, the suspect then pointed a gun at the man inside the car, and asked him what his problem was. The report also mentions that the victim recalled the suspect saying something like: "I turn into my subdivision, and I'm flipped off by a kid."

The victim tried explaining that he lived in the neighborhood, too. But, that didn't work, as the suspect kept the gun pointed at him. "Get out of here," the victim recalled the suspect yelled.

Eventually, things simmered down. The two went their separate ways.

The victim told police he thought the man lived near the front of the subdivision. Police went a-knocking, but no one answered. And, without any probable cause, no warrants were obtained at the time.
