Lilburn Man Arrested for Stealing Water From a Fire Hydrant to Fill His Pool
Homeowner admitted the water had been running for approximately two hours.
Gwinnett Police responded to a call reporting that "a house on a corner was using a fire hydrant to fill up a pool" on Tuesday, Sept. 11, in Lilburn.
Officers arriving at the home noted a green garden hose attached to a fire hydrant. The hose led to a pool behind a house in the 1000 block of Carla Joe Drive in Lilburn.
According to police reports, the homeowner told officers he was upset over the expense of his water bill and was using the fire hydrant so it would not cost him any more money to fill his pool. The homeowner did not have a permit to use the hydrant and told officers the water had been running for about two hours, filling his pool up with around two feet of water.
