The department sent out a news release Monday asking for the public's help in identifying the man who was hit while crossing the road around 8:45 p.m. the previous day. The unidentified man was transported to the Eastside Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

An initial investigation determined that speed was not a factor, and no charges are pending against the driver, according to the news release.
