Man Attacks Girlfriend With Front Door

Inside the Police Reports: A man breaks the hinges off the front door of his home and used it as a deadly weapon toward his girlfriend.

A man allegedly ripped off the front door of his home and used it as a weapon against his girlfriend late last month in Lilburn.

The woman, 32, had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, a 39-year-old named Michael Killings, at their home on Cold Springs Drive off Indian Trail Lilburn Road.

She told police that she had started talking with him about a cookout that weekend at her mom's house when her boyfriend started to yell at her.

She started heading to their bedroom, and he followed her.

The girlfriend told police that Killings started to choke her in the bedroom, but she hit him with a nearby trash can. He released her and she was able to get away toward the front door.

He allegedly pushed her as she opened the front door and she tried to get her keys from Killings. He hit her in the face with the keys, according to the report.

According to the report, he also pulled the front door right off its hinges and used it as a deadly weapon by striking the girlfriend in the face with it, cutting and bruising her.

He then fled, and the girlfriend called Gwinnett police. He was charged with aggravated assault and admitted into the Gwinnett County Detention Center on July 6.
