Updated: Man Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting in Unincorporated Lilburn

Gwinnett County Police Department responded to a domestic call, where there was a man armed with a gun.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is reporting an officer-involved shooting at the 3800 block of Southgate Circle in unincorporated Lilburn.

According to a brief report sent at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday evening, "officers responded to a domestic dispute call and were confronted by a male armed with a gun."

Police said the man was shot and killed by a responding officer. Officers were not injured, the report stated.

Update: WSB Radio is reporting that the incident involved a son who had been arguing with family members when officers were called to the scene. The male suspect apparently grabbed a small handgun and was waiting for police, when they arrived the man began walking down the driveway yelling for officers to leave. The report states that the man then raised his gun at the officer and at that time the officer fired a shot killing the man.
