Update: 3 in Police Custody Following Home Invasion

The incident, which resulted in a man getting shot in the shoulder, occurred early Friday at a home near Dickens Road in unincorporated Lilburn.

Three people are in police custody in connection to a home invasion that resulted in a man getting shot in the shoulder.

The incident occurred at a residence off the 1000 block of Worcester Place near Dickens Road in the Lilburn area around 2:45 a.m. Friday (Aug. 9), according to Gwinnett County Police spokesman Jake Smith. The victim was transported to the hospital, but his injury appears to be non-life threatening.

The injured victim and two other men living at the home were there when the home invasion occurred. Detectives believe one of the men had met two women at a nearby bar earlier that night and invited them back to the home.

The women arrived in a separate vehicle with three other men, and all five people robbed the residents, according to authorities.

The injured victim was shot by one of the alleged robbers. Another victim was able to escape through a window and run to a neighbor’s house to call authorities, but the suspects were gone by the time officers arrived.

The suspects fled the scene in two cars, one of which was one of the victim's and the other being their own. The suspects' vehicle, which contained the two women and one of the male suspects, was stopped in DeKalb county for a violation unrelated to the robbery. The three suspects are now in police custody, but there is no word on the other two suspects or vehicle.

Authorities have not released the identities of the suspects. Stay with Patch as this story develops.
