Man Wounded in Gwinnett Shooting

Gwinnett County police believe the incident, which took place in area between both Norcross and Lilburn, may be gang-related.

Gwinnett County police are investigating a shooting in unincorporated Norcross that resulted in one man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, the 34-year-old victim has not died, according to Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith.

"We are in the early stages of our investigation but at this time it appears to be gang related," said police in an email.

According to the police report, the victim was found around midnight laying on the kitchen floor of his apartment on the 800 block of 6 Oaks Circle, which is near the intersection of Singleton Road and Harbins Road. He was bleeding from the abdomen from an apparent gunshot wound.

Paramedics were called on scene and transported the man to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville.
