Mattie's Call Issued for 81-Year-Old Gwinnett Man

Paul Louis Geyer was last seen driving a white 2007 Chevrolet Uplander with minor front-end damage.

Gwinnett Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing elderly man from Lawrenceville.

According to Gwinnett Police spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith, Paul Louis Geyer, 81, is 5'9" and about 170 lbs. He was last seen driving a white 2007 Chevrolet Uplander with minor front-end damage in Newton County earlier Thursday (Jan. 16). The tag number is ABZ 5804.

The damage is due to a minor car accident he was involved with on Covington Highway on Thursday. Uninjured, he drove away after the accident report was completed. The tag number on his vehicle was ran by the Lawrenceville Police Department at 2:42 p.m.

Before the accident, Geyer's son had called police saying that his father had left for a doctor's appointment around 8 a.m. Thursday but the doctor's office said he never made it. According to the son, Geyer only drives to the doctor's office and the local Roger store. His son drove the same route his father would have taken but could find no sign of the vehicle or his father, so he called 911.

His father has never gone missing like this before, the son said, and he has no history of mental issues or anything that would indicate he would be in danger.

Anyone with information on Geyer's whereabouts should call 911.
