Meadowcreek Teacher Arrested for Sexual Assault
Heriberto Lopez, a social studies teacher, was detained on Feb. 28.
A Meadowcreek High School social studies teacher was arrested for allegedly sexual assaulting a student who goes to the school, according to officials.
Heriberto Lopez of 2530 Lockemeade Way was admitted to the Gwinnett County Detention Center on. Feb. 28 at 3:30 p.m., according to records. Lopez has been a teacher at Meadowcreek High School since Aug. 2008, according Jorge Quintana, spokesperson for Gwinnett County Schools.
He was released on a $2400 bond, according to the Detention Center docket.

Because the incident happened off campus, Gwinnett County Police are handling the investigation.
Human resources within the school is also investigating, according to Quintana. Though Lopez is still an employee of the school, he is currently not reporting to Meadowcreek.
