Men Blame Roommate for Car Break-In, Shooting and Theft

Inside the Police Reports: Two Lilburn residents claim their roommate took some of their things, shattered the window to one of their cars and may have been involved in a gunshots they heard in the middle of the night.

Two men claim that their roommate who had been high on methamphetamines for days stole their possessions, broke into one of their cars, and was involved in a shooting that happened on their block. 

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, the incident occurred on the 400 block of Arcadia Place near Arcado Road in Lilburn earlier this month.

One of the victims, 29, told police that the driver's side window of his 1989 BMW 325 had been shattered. A carton of cigarettes and a panel under his steering column had been taken, valuing at $60 total. An HD GoPro camera and a racing helmet were in the backseat, but they were not taken.

The other victim, 22, said his bookbag, wallet and cell phone were stolen from inside the home. He fell asleep on the couch with his possessions next to him, and when he woke up, they were gone.

The two told police that their roommate was the only other person there, but he was gone by the time they woke up. Both victims said the man had been on meth for six days straight and was upset the day before because he lost his phone.

They said they heard gunshots between 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. that day. They found three bullet casings in the street a few houses down and believe the roommate may have had something to do with it. Their roommate always had his gun on him, they said, and when they looked around that day, they noticed he didn't leave it behind.
