Meth House Demolition Expected Wednesday

Gwinnett Police: Heavy demolition "should" start in the morning.

Gwinnett County Police Department spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith sent out this media release late Tuesday afternoon regarding the planned demolition of the meth house on Spring Mill Drive in unincorporated Lilburn:

"FYI - the heavy demolition of the house involved in the meth fire that killed 3 children should start tomorrow morning. No promises from GCPD on this, of course."

The boarded-up house at 1197 Spring Mill Drive has been standing at the entrance to the Spring Mill subdivision since a tragic explosion and fire took the lives of three young children in February, 2011. The mother and another man — Neibi Brito and Joseph A. Perez  — were charged with three counts of felony murder and drug trafficking. A third suspect, Ivan Gonzalez, is still at large.
