Parent Arrested at Grayson-Area Elementary School

The mother of a student from Starling Elementary School in Grayson was arrested Wednesday and charged with disruption of a public school and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

A parent from  in Grayson was arrested this morning and charged with disruption of a public school, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and remaining on school property without probable cause.

According to jail records, Patricia Swilley of 835 Buie Way, Lawrenceville, was arrested at the school and booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center at 10:34 a.m. this morning. She bonded out at 2:40 p.m. on a total bond of $8,300 - $1,300 on each of the charges relating to the school and $5,700 for obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

According to a report on CBS Atlanta News, Gwinnett County Public School officials said Swilley, who allegedly has a history of disrupting the school and not following school rules, was recently issued a criminal trespass warning banning her from the campus. She allegedly refused to leave the building after entering to take pictures of her daughter participating in field day activities. According to the report, Swilley's husband told CBS Atlanta News his wife is the yearbook photographer, which is why she was at the school.
