Police Arrest Burglary Suspects at Minor Elementary School

Gwinnett police arrested three teenagers after they reportedly robbed a Lilburn home, catching one at the scene of the crime and chasing the other two to Minor Elementary School.
In the early afternoon of Aug. 9, 18-year-olds Asaiah Brooks, Tashod Ford and Patrick Guerrero entered a home on the 700 block of Cookwood Place near Burns Road. A neighbor off Minor Creek Way reported the crime to authorities.
When police arrived, the three were outside the home in their car, a silver Ford Taurus. One responding officer was able to stop Brooks, who was in the driver's seat, but the other two jumped out and made a run for it.

Ford, of Lilburn, and Guerrero, of Norcross, ignored numerous police commands to stop. Police chased them through nearby woods on foot.
At one point, Ford and Guerrero attempted to hide in the mud but were unsuccessful. The suspects were caught less than a quarter of a mile away at Minor Elementary School on Shady Drive.

Police connected with the victim, 36, who said the only item stolen from his home was a 46-inch JVC television. The report doesn't state if the TV had been recovered.
All three suspects were arrested and charged with burglary. Ford and Guerrero have an additional charge of obstructing law enforcement.
