Storm Causes Damage in Lilburn

Trees, wires downed by Friday's thunderstorm.

The strong storm that moved through the area kept Gwinnett firefighters on their toes Friday night.

According to Gwinnett Fire spokesman Capt. Tommy Rutledge, crews responded to trees down on three houses around 8:30 p.m.

Rutledge said a tree and wires were reported down around 8:30 p.m. on a house on the 4300 block of Hale Drive. No injuries were reported, but limbs broke through the roof and allowed water to enter from the rain.

At 8:41 p.m., trees and wires were reported down on two residences at 787 and 797 Killian Hill Road, according to Rutledge.

Two pine trees split and fell on one of the homes, allowing water from the rain to get into the house. On the other house, the limbs of one tree punched through the roof.
