Update: Police Make Arrest in Stabbing Death

The incident happened Sunday morning at the Sinclair Apartments in unincorporated Norcross.

Gwinnett Police have arrested a man and charged him with murder in the stabbing death of a Norcross man Sunday.

Police spokesman Cpl. Ed Ritter said via email Monday that Agustin Rangel-Oviedo, 21, of Norcross was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault in the death of Sifredo Palma, 20, also of Norcross, who was stabbed multiple times Sunday morning at the Sinclair Apartments located off South Norcross-Tucker Road, just south of Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

Additionally, the suspect's brother, Rogelio Rangel-Oviedo, 18, of Norcross, was arrested and charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.

The motive is still being investigated, Ritter said.

Officers responded to a call around 8:45 a.m. Sunday that a man had been stabbed at the 1500 building of the Sinclair Apartments. 

The victim sustained “multiple stab wounds,” according to police, and was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he died.
