Inside the Police Reports: A destructive-looking package found at a vacant home recently was cleared after officers investigated it.

A suspicious device found inside a vacant Lilburn home was determined safe after a thorough investigation from officers.

A man reported finding a device on July 15 around 11 a.m. on the 4400 block of Riverside Drive. The device, which the report says looked destructive, was a mason jar containing an unspecified object and wires, which were wrapped in electrical tape.

Gwinnett Police and officers from the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit checked the device, and even though EOD officers concluded the device to be safe, police confiscated it.
