Lilburn's Weirdest Crimes of 2011

A collection of the 10 most outrageous crime reports of the year.

In compiling our Inside the Police Reports column during the past year, Lilburn Patch has seen some pretty crazy incidents cross our desks.

To end the year of 2011, we've compiled a list of Lilburn's 10 weirdest reported crimes of the year in chronological order. Enjoy.

Drug deal gone bad: One January evening in a CVS parking lot on Lawrenceville Highway, after she attempted to sell prescription pills. A man with her was also run over, but both victims are still being of drugs.

A family-friendly bank robbery: Later in January, a DeKalb County mother, her son and two other teenagers were arrested for . A witness notified police of the incident and followed the suspects in his car after they left the bank, which allowed police to catch up with the suspects. The witness said and later received a from Mayor Diana Preston.

What was he doing in that car? Two woman claimed in early February that in the local Walmart parking lot. When police arrived, the man wasn't wearing any pants but had tried to cover himself by throwing a pair of shorts over his legs. Because no one would notice, right?

Scamming elders: On Feb. 6, a 63-year-old woman told police how by someone she met through a online dating website. He also tricked her into sending him car parts, a computer and other items, the report says.

New weaponry: Skip to June, when we get to heard about how a man who allegedly against his girlfriend after they had been fighting.

Rolling cars: In early July, a Lilburn man called police to report that his car had been stolen, but they found it hours later. It turns out because the gear was in neutral.

Pawn woes: After being burglarized one July afternoon, a lucky Stone Mountain man at a Lilburn pawn shop later that day. And Gwinnett Police were already in tow.

Toilet-papering was obviously not enough: A man in Lilburn found that in late July.

Sister, sister: In September, two sisters tried to play off as the complainant and victim in an attempted rape case when the incident actually turned out to be an armed robbery, and they were the suspects. Supposedly it wasn't the first time they've tried to do this to the poor guy, either.

Dirty poses: On a hill near a Stone Mountain Highway church one early November afternoon, Gwinnett Police officers found . She explained to officers that she was expanding her portfolio since she wanted to be an exotic dancer.
